These rules have been put in place by this institution for faculty members to follow when they apply for research projects sponsored by government or private organizations. |

Faculty members from this university who apply for government or private organization projects must provide a research project outline. The project outline must include research methods and the basic project structure. The university will provide stamped approval for the related application forms after the application has been completely filled out. Upon receiving stamped approval, faculty members can submit the applications to the government or private organization sponsoring the project. |

Research projects from instructors in this university are subject to related departmental committee approval. Once an agreement with the faculty member has been signed and funds dispersed, the research project officially come into effect. |

Twenty percent of the funds (five percent in the case of National Science Council Research Projects) dispersed from related departments is distributed back to the university as an administration management and facility usage fee. |

Upon completion of the research project, the results may be presented under Ming Chuan University’s name in academic conferences. |

6.
|
If additional personnel such as research assistants or assistant researchers are required for this project, the salary and compensation for such personnel are distributed from research project funds. |
|
7.
|
To protect research assistants’ rights, directors of research projects are required to apply for labor insurance for all hired personnel. |

If personnel hired for the research project are not university staff members, they are still subject to campus regulations. |
|
9.
|
Equipment purchased for the research project should be registered as university property. Personnel associated with the research project are not allowed to use the equipment for personal gain. |

Upon being passed at the University Affairs Committee Meeting, these rules were implemented. Any revision must follow the same procedure. |
