My Life at MCU
From Community College of City University, Hong Kong /by Jackie Wing Ki Yan
Hi, I am Jackie from Hong Kong. I have so much joy and fun in our room every day and night. Here I meet some new friends from different countries. But I would like to especially mention my Korean Friends. We all live on the same floor of international dormitory and we play, dance, eat, chat and travel to together even we just met for 2 months. Everybody may have a question that how do you communicate with them? I speak Cantonese and they speak Korean. In fact, this is a worry of mine at first. But fortunately, they can speak a little bit Mandarin. And therefore, we use Mandarin and English and different gesture to express our words in the best way we can. Sometimes we just like acting and we discover that our Korean roommate has a great potential to be an actress!
And I also meet so many Taiwanese friends here. Chris who pick-up us at the airport when we arrived, I am really grateful for his hospitality and care to us. He took us to different places to eat, play and site-seeing. And he even took us to visit his family and lived in his house during our 1st Mid-Autumn in Taiwan. We went to sing karaoke which is very popular in Taiwan. However, we didn’t dance in HK, we danced here and have fun here. I love it so much. It is an excellent activity for you to become crazy and excited.
I really enjoy the life here and I made a right choice to exchange to a new world to me.
