Q1: If our department wants to issue a news release, how can we handle it?

A: Please submit your application one week before an event occurs. You can go to the MCU homepage and click “Job Item” to file the application. To facilitate the task, please describe your event and activities with your contact information including the contact person, unit name and telephone number attached.

Q2: If our high school students want to visit the MCU campus, how can we apply for it?

A: Please submit your application at least 2 weeks before the visit. You can go to the MCU homepage and click “Job Item” to file the application. In addition to the department (s) or course (s) you want to visit or observe, please provide the contact information including the contact person, unit and telephone number to help us to facilitate the visit arrangement. You may also contact us at 02-2880-9748.

Q3: If a high school or vocational school wants to invite MCU teachers or students to introduce your programs, share experiences or attend a university fair, how to apply for it?

A: Please contact us at 02-2880-9748 to inform us of the date, time, venue and topic for the event.

Q4: How can alumni apply for an academic document or certificate after graduation?

A: It is the Registration Section of the Academic Affairs Division which takes charge with the academic document or certificate application. If you want to apply for any required document by mail, you should send the application form and related documents to the Alumni Relations Section of the General Secretary Division. Please take the following steps for your application:

1.      Application in Person

a. Pay the application fees via a slot machine located on the 1^st floor of the Administration Building on Taipei campus or the United Office Building on Taoyuan campus.

b. Submit one copy of the receipt (upper part) to the Registration Section, and keep the lower part of the receipt for yourself.

c. The number of working days required for different document application will be different. You may bring your receipt to ask for the requested certificate or document by yourself. Or you may ask the Alumni Relations Section to mail the requested document for you.

d. Currently, alumni can acquire their Chinese-version or English-version transcripts directly from the slot machine. The machine will print out the requested transcript for you after you pay the fees. If you apply for your transcript this way, you can do it any time.

2.      Application by mail

a. Submit the application online at the MCU alumni website by clicking “Alumni Services” at http://www1.mcu.edu.tw/Apps/SB/SB_Site.aspk?PageID=26

b. Fill and print out the application form, enclose the required documents and information as well as the application fees into a mail packet, and send it to the MCU Alumni Relations Section. Fees may be made in a post office cash bag  or money order.

Q5: If alumni want to host a reunion or shoot wedding pictures on MCU campus, how to apply for it?

A: All the alumni are welcome to the alma mater to host a reunion or shoot wedding pictures on MCU campus. Please go to the MCU alumni website: http://www1.mcu.edu.tw/Apps/SB/SB_Site.aspx?PageID=26 and click “Alumni Services” http://www1.mcu.edu.tw/Apps/SB/SB_Site.aspx?PageID=26 to download the application file. After completing the application form, please fax it to the Alumni Relations Section at 02-2883-0493 or e-mail the application file to alumnus@mail.mcu.edu.tw.

Q6: What is the difference between an English-version degree certificate and an English-version diploma?

A: MCU issues to each graduate only an original English-version diploma as requested by the applicant. If lost, you can apply for a substitute, called English-version degree certificate. Both documents are different in format but bear the same effect. But we would like to advise you to apply for an English-version degree certificate in case that you need a certificate for a job application or further academic pursuit. You can repeatedly apply for the so-called English-version degree certificate, but you must not apply for a diploma for the second time.
