As a leading institution of higher education in Taiwan, Ming Chuan University places high value on technology, management, and humanities. Under the guidance of founder, Dr. Pao, and president, Dr. Lee, the university has upheld the ideal of educating the whole person, with emphasis on students' learning of ethical values and appreciation for the arts.
In 2001, at President Lee's requested that arts centers be established. Professors Chen, Te-Chao and Huang, Chien-Sen took charge of the new project, and Dr. Tsz-hsien, Andy, Wen, former Chairperson of Department of Architecture, with his faculty members were responsible for the planning and design of the arts centers.
In March 2002, the Arts Center with locations on both Taipei and Taoyuan Campuses opened in conjunction with the school's 45th anniversary. As the founder and president cut the ribbons at the opening ceremony, so began the first art exhibition in celebration of the opening of both Arts Center locations.
